They aim to reopen the 50-year-vacant hotel within two years as a four-and-a-half-star establishment featuring 226 guest rooms, two restaurants, a pool deck, and a rooftop bar with views of the downtown.

AC Hotel Downtown Kansas City

When the original Rialto Building, a five-story structure, was destroyed by fire in 1909, real estate icon Albert Marty prioritized building a new fireproof skyscraper that would be used to house medical professionals. Completed in 1911, the 13-story steel-frame skyscraper featured Commercial-style architecture by renowned architects Smith, Rea, and Lovitt and was constructed by George L. Brown & Son.

AC Hotel Kansas City Downtown opens

The AC Hotel Kansas City (Mo.) Downtown has opened in the historic, 112-year-old Rialto Building following a $73 million renovation. Previously known as the Ozark National Life Insurance Building and United Missouri Bank, the 13-story hotel was renovated by Beechwood Pinnacle Hotels and now has 239 guestrooms and 11 suites.
