HALE MILL | IN PROGRESS

Our design team is reimagining the future of a remarkable landmark in Norwich, Connecticut. This 19th-century textile mill, originally built in 1865, was once a hub of wool production. Today it is the focus of an exciting transformation into a boutique hotel that honors its history while embracing modern comfort.

The design draws inspiration from the mill’s heritage, with wool and sheep serving as guiding motifs throughout the concept. Historic architectural details such as exposed brick, wood beams, and original millwork are carefully preserved and highlighted through layered textures, rich materials, and an eclectic, collected aesthetic. Renderings reveal interiors that balance authenticity with warmth. Public spaces evoke craftsmanship and connection, while guest rooms feature timeless forms, bold yet muted tones, and tactile patterns that create a deeply inviting atmosphere.

Amenities will include a welcoming lounge, a lively bar, spa, fitness center, a large special event space, and intimate library lounges on the guestroom floors for moments of retreat.
