DILLARD | CAMPHOR HARTZELL DORMS

The historic Camphor and Hartzell residence halls are located on the Dillard University campus in New Orleans, LA.  The residence hall building sat vacant for several years, after sustaining flood damage in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

The project included the reconfiguration of the interior to house residential areas, community spaces, classrooms, and offices to serve both students and faculty.  This project required coordination with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties, along with FEMA and SHPO.  A total of 127 dorm rooms were renovated.
