PERE MARQUETTE HOTEL
The Pere Marquette Hotel has been a significant landmark in downtown Peoria since its construction. Designed by Philadelphia architect Horace Trumbauer, the fourteen-story hotel was completed in 1926.
Rehabilitation of the Pere Marquette consisted of an exterior façade restoration, the conversion of 287 guestrooms, and the renovation of public areas including a grand staircase, main lobby, ballrooms, meeting spaces, registration and check-in areas, back-of-house areas, and restaurant space.
There were various alterations and additions to the building over the years, including a significant ballroom addition in 1961, new suites in 1966, and interior modifications in 1972 and 1980.
